Walk #7 Silver How

Distance:3.7 miles Time: 2hr:45mins (inc. stops) Total ascent: 326m

Back in the lakes for some autumn Wainwrights before the weather gets too foul! This was a nice easy one to get started with.

Parked in Grasmere next to garden centre and started down the road towards the water, taking a footpath to the right close to the cafe/boathouse.

This was a fairly easy climb, and while the last bit is steep, a good section of it has stone steps.

Summit was easily reached, with Sarah assuming her now customary pose:

We celebrated with hot chocolate, then followed an alternative route back to Grasmere to make it a circular walk.

This section was green. Very very green.

While Sarah queued for gingerbread at Sarah Nelson’s famous shop, I kept the dog busy by visiting Wordsworth’s grave and daffodil garden.

This puts me on 14, and Sarah on 6 Wainwrights.
